Engineering should be your biggest advantage.
I’ve led engineering through exits, turnarounds, and hypergrowth. I help you turn engineering into the thing that moves the business forward.
Max sets a bar that few can match. A world-class developer and an even better leader — he's empathetic when needed, but isn't afraid to make the tough decisions when the time calls for it.

The Problem
- There are bottlenecks and processes that could be automated or optimized but nobody has time to figure out where to start.
- Engineering budget grows but the business doesn’t feel it.
- The company built a custom solution that works, but can’t scale. Now it’s cheaper to buy than to maintain.
- AI tools get purchased, announced internally, and never used.
- There’s one engineer who holds all the institutional knowledge; the company can’t move without them.
- Business is scaling but engineering wasn’t built for this growth.
- The board or leadership asks a technical question and the answer doesn’t mean anything.
- A fractional CTO or Consultant gets hired, delivers a strategy doc, and disappears.
None of this is permanent. Everything is solvable. But it compounds if you ignore it.
How I can help
Most technical leaders give you a strategy doc. I give you a working system.
Engineering Assessment
I evaluate team structure, delivery velocity, architecture, AI readiness, leadership, and cost efficiency. You get a clear, honest assessment.
Boards use this before fundraises. Investors use it before writing checks. Founders use it when things feel slow or when everything is going right and they want solid foundations for growth.
If you’re acquiring, I look under the hood. Not an analyst running checklists, an operator who’s been through acquisitions and knows what they miss.
Lately, most companies I talk to already know AI should be doing more for them. The problem is knowing where to start and what will actually stick. That’s most of what I’m working on right now.
Technical Leadership
Hiring, architecture, team structure, shipping cadence without the full-time hire. I’ve been the full-time hire for twenty years: engineer, lead, executive.
How it works
Book a 20-minute call. You tell me what’s going on. I tell you if I can help.
